School Readiness (3-6 years)

Our School Readiness Program (3-6 years) prepares children with the foundational knowledge and skills to transition confidently to any school setting.

Our curriculum covers areas such as practical life skills, sensory development, literacy and numeracy, science, geography, art and music. These areas provide the best foundation as children prepare for their transition to school, and beyond. In addition to our Montessori Language Area, we also use THRASS as the basis for phonics teaching. We work with our families in partnership to empower students in reading, spelling, writing and reading comprehension to enable them to reach their full potential before going to primary school. We are preparing children for primary school and beyond.

I highly recommend Joyful Montessori as it provides an amazing environment for kids to learn and develop different skills. My daughter and I love attending each week. It’s amazing the changes I have seen in her development and understanding of different concepts and activities. She particularly loves the water activities, transfer work and musical items! She also adores Ashley who has a warm, patient and friendly manner that all the kids love.

This year I enrolled Zac at Joyful Montessori and it was the best decision we’ve made for him. Not only does he learn and explore, but I get to learn how to assist his preferred learning methods and get the best out of our time together by just changing the way I ask him to do things and have confidence in his ability to go at it alone. In just three weeks, he was using his manners at home, listening more, calmer and we are having a great time. I love that he thrives when given the space to explore and I am less anxious about mess and getting dirty. For the first time ever, we love Monday mornings and are able to implement his new skills at home.

My daughter and I have thoroughly enjoyed our time at Joyful Montessori. Ashley provides a well thought out prepared environment and various activities each week that are tailored to your needs of your child. Not only is the program well resourced, Ashley has created a warm and friendly home environment.

Our last day at Joyful Montessori for the term. We farewelled our friends and amazing teacher Ashley before our move back to the coast. Cannot recommend enough. Arlo went from hiding under the couch not wanting to go to 3YO Kinder to now hurrying me up in the mornings so we weren’t late to Montessori class!

QUESTIONS BEFORE YOU COMMIT?

Frequently Asked Questions

Yes, all of our School Readiness Classes are drop off sessions. You need to sign your child in and out. There are four hour drop off classes and two hour drop off classes.
How do I secure my child’s spot?
Enrol now and we will send you a quote for the Term and selected program. To secure your child’s spot, a 25% deposit payment needs to be made, with the remaining amount due seven days before the Term starts.
How do you help to prepare children for school?
We focus on developing the whole child, so not only do we expose your child to literacy and numeracy concepts, we help them build their independence, confidence, resilience and problem-solving skills.
